BEd Distance Education Duration & Eligibility
The Distance BEd education course lasts 2 years through CDOE. This course spans 4 semesters, 1 per year. However, as per Regulation 3 of NCTE Norms and Standards for Bachelor of Education Programme through Distance Learning System, candidates can extend this duration up to a period of five years.
Candidates who wish to apply for the Distance BEd course need to have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, or a Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology with 55% marks in Science/Mathematics. Students must have secured at least 50% marks, and for the reserved categories (SC/ST), 45% marks.
For the University of Jammu, applicants must be full-time teachers in recognized primary or elementary schools and have at least 2 years of teaching experience, verified by a recognized authority. Those who have completed a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.). Seat reservations are subject to the rules of JKUT/University of Jammu and will be given priority.
