BEd Distance Education Duration & Eligibility
The BEd distance education course offered by CDOE lasts two years. This course includes four semesters, two per year. However, according to Regulation 3 of the NCTE Norms and Standards for Bachelor of Education Programs via Distance Learning System, candidates can prolong this period up to five years.
Candidates applying for the Distance BEd course must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sciences, Social Sciences, or Humanities, or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with a minimum of 55% in Science/Mathematics. Students must have at least 50% marks, with 45% for restricted categories (SC/ST).
Applicants to the University of Jammu must be full-time teachers in accredited primary or elementary schools with at least two years of teaching experience as validated by a recognized body. Those who have earned a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). Seat reservations are subject to the guidelines of JKUT/University of Jammu and will be prioritized.
